Feminist Law Society Ltd.

Feminist Law Society is a small, independent organisation dedicated to creating freely available, accessible, educational resources about feminist law.

Feminist Law Society was incorporated by Maria Gallagher, Director of Accessible Creations Ltd and co-founder of University of Westminster's Feminist Law Society. Maria served as President of University of Westminster Feminist Law Society for two consecutive academic years: 2019-2021.

Feminist Law Society promotes a wide range of feminist law organisations, issues, discussions and campaigns and gives a platform on this website to University Student Feminist Law Societies to display their work.

Accessible Creations Ltd creates all of the resources for Feminist Law Society to ensure that educational, feminist law resources are freely and easily accessible for all.

Feminist Law Society does not give legal advice.

Feminist Law Society is run by a small team of dedicated volunteers.

Applications to volunteer with us are always welcome. To find out how to apply, email info@feministlawsociety.org.uk with the subject ‘Volunteering enquiry’ and someone will be in touch to assist you with the application process.

Feminist Law Society Aims:

  • To examine the law and legal profession through a feminist lens.
  • To educate ourselves and others on how to incorporate equal practice into study, research, legal work, and everyday life.
  • To provide others with the tools to recognise, address, and understand the realities of inequality.
  • To create and use resources that are inclusive of diverse learning styles and needs.
  • To promote and signpost to examples of good feminist legal practice
  • To work collaboratively with feminist law campaign groups and organisations to achieve shared aims in facilitating social, cultural, policy and legislative change.
  • To highlight and tackle the sexist myths and stereotypes that permeate society and that, subsequently, influence outcomes within our legal systems
